On July 13, the Pacaya Volcano erupted again, expelling sand and lava that reached up to 500 meters high, and falling in the Finca El Patrocinio area. Local authorities have temporarily prohibited access to the Volcano, although the immediate danger appears to have passed for the moment but Guatemala has several active volcanoes that could erupt without warning.
